The 80's

The 80's were a busy time for the Rotary Club of Ajax. The Club increased its commitment to help fund more local and international causes than ever before.
 
Throughout the 80's the Club supported Rotary International PolioPlus Campaign, with the goal of global eradication of Polio.
 
1980:
The Club donated $500 to help fund immunizations in India.
The Club donated $1,200 to the Rotary International.
 
1981:
Ajax Rotary donated $4,500 to the Easter Seals Drive.
 
1982-83:
The Club partners with CIDA to supply and erect a windmill to pump water on the Carribean island of Cacciacou.
 
1983-84:
Over $14,000 was donated to a wide variety of smaller local projects.
 
1987-88:
Ajax Rotary pledged $150,000 to the Ajax-Pickering Hospital expansion fund.
 
1987:
$5,000 is donated to Rotary International.
 
1988:
$1,000 is donated to Eyesight International.
