The kids against hunger was a record breaking astounding success! A big thanks to Donna, Kleo, Sponsors and the army of volunteers. 100,000 meals packed!  I had no idea of the magnitude of this project until I assisted with some of the set-up on Friday.  The volunteers from Kids loaded skids and skids of the grains, tote boxes, packing boxes etc that filled a 5 ton truck and a very large trailer. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the saturday event, thanks to an unwelcomed flu bug that took over our home.
Randy Slimen and Dick Briscoe made an attempt to uncover the queen to no avail.  Kleo won the wine draw.
I will be needing a replacement(s) to take notes and do the bulletin for the following weeks, April 16, (possibly) April 23, April 30, & May 7th and I will be back for the May 14th meeting unless we decide to stay in Europe.
Incoming President Marsha spoke to the club about commencing morning meetings again starting Ausgust 6, 2015.  They will be held Thursday mornings at the McEachnie Funeral Home visitation centre.  They would be every other Thursday with no lunch meetings and would run from 7:15 to 9:00.  Marsha has requested full support of the club as we must grow our club membership to maintain our club health & activity level.  More details will follow.
That is it for this week
Yours in Rotary
